The Adobe Shockwave Player is just a product that plays the content created in Shockwave. If you want to create such content to deploy it on a website or computer, you will need the necessary application called Adobe Flash. That's the only software that can created Shockwave and Flash objects/action scripting/coding, etc.

You don't need to install it on Google Chrome because Adobe Flash Player is directly integrated with Google Chrome and enabled by default. Also Chrome automatically updates when new versions of Adobe Flash Player are available. For more information, you can check the Google Plug-ins web page.
When I log onto the Internet, my PC tells me plug-ins are unresponsive. This morning I got a message in my browser that the Shockwave player crashed. My Facebook has been affected as well. My phone sent me notifications about the Facebook access. What's happening here? Bugs?

The crash could happen because of various reasons. I suggest you visit the plug-ins page of your browser and check for malware and adware applications and toolbars, and usually a simple restart of the browser fixes the problem. The thing with Facebook is that the browser tried to log-in and you have notifications activated and that's why you receive them on your phone.
Based on the official information, Shockwave 10 doesn't run on Windows 10. Not even version 12 which is the latest one doesn't have Windows 10 support, but as long as you'll be installing in compatibility mode and with Run as Administrator selected, everything should be fine.
This error is caused by some incorrect installer registry values for the Adobe Flash Player. To correct this you should remove all installed versions of Adobe Flash Player through Control Panel. All ActiveX/Plugin and x86/x64 versions must be uninstalled. Then reinstall the software. If it didn't work, try the same procedure but with the help of Revo Uninstaller. If you still experience the same error you should do some manual adjustments to the registry. Open the registry editor (regedit.exe) and navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products. The sub-keys of this registry key contains the installer registry settings for the software installed on your computer.
Each program installed is represented with a unique GUID, which will make it hard to find the Adobe Flash Player entries. The GUID key even differs between the Flash versions.
You should use Find (CTRL+F) in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products key to search for Adobe Flash and delete the corresponding GUID keys as there could be more than one entry for Adobe Flash Player. After deleting close the editor. the installation should be correct now.
You can download the latest version of the Shockwave Player from the official website. After the installation, make sure to restart your browser in order for the changes to take effect.
